SACRAMENTS: Holy Spirit of Hope Catholic Charismatic Church believes that Sacraments are outward signs of an invisible grace. Therefore, it confers the following sacramental events:
1. BAPTISM for new spiritual life to become a member of the Church.
2. COMMUNION, also EUCHARIST, for the remembrance of the Last Supper where Jesus shared His Body and Blood - shared with each other at every Mass. Mass is available on Sundays and for special remembrances like anniversaries and funerals.
3. RECONCILIATION, also CONFESSION, for hearing God's forgiveness of sins is part of the Mass, but special counseling is available from the pastor upon request.
4. CONFIRMATION for the affirmation of a person’s faith in Christ, the "altar call" experience in which the Holy Spirit helps us enter into an intimate relationship with Jesus. Quinceañeras are conducted as Confirmation rites.
5. MATRIMONY, also MARRIAGE, for the understanding of eternal life as husband and wife in the same intimacy as Christ and the Church. Remarriage is administered without judgment, but with appropriate counseling.
6. ANOINTING OF THE SICK for probable physical healing, and most certainly spiritually (by faith) healing through a deeper focus in the love of our Lord. Home and hospital calls are available.
7. HOLY ORDERS, also ORDINATION, for the installation of deacons, priests and bishops for service of the faithful through Apostolic Succession (which traces the lines of Consecration of a bishop back to the Apostles). The priest serves the bishop by helping the local community enter into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Our clergy can be and often are married. |
